This course is designed to provide a basic understanding of financial accounting and business & management practices. The first unit of the course presents principles of financial accounting while the second part presents the main management topics of a business organisation.

Knowledge and comprehension skills
Knowledge and comprehension about the principles of financial accounting as a business decision making tool as well as the main managerial features of a business entity related to typical functions and processes (i.e marketing, organisation, accounting and finance, planning and control, etc.).
These skills are the basis for a steady comprehension of the topic and should act as input for further studies in the business administration degree.
Ability to apply knowledge and comprehension.
Application of financial accounting tools to record business transaction and to analyse main features of a business entity in terms of core functions and processes.
Autonomy of judgment. Identifying key variables in assessing and making judgments about the business of an organisation.
Communicational skills. Presenting financial and business issues and related solutions using a proper language.
Learning abilities. Successful learning will be linked to a deep understanding of all the specific variables involved in business decision making with particular focus on financial accounting practices. Re-use and process the knowledge achieved in this course.
